Jouyssance returns to the British Isles for its beloved tradition of celebrating Twelfth Night. Exploring carols and motets from Dunstable to the Dublin Troper, Jouyssance will also present works by Byrd, Philips and Tallis (including excerpts of the sumptuous Missa Puer natus est). And after the concert, let us treat you to a cup of wassail!

Diversity in early music? Recent research has uncovered a treasure trove of medieval and Renaissance music by composers from a wide variety of backgrounds, from cloistered Italian nuns to the first composers born in the New World. Jouyssance will perform sacred and secular music from these collections, as well as mesmerizing motets by the first published composer of African descent, Vicente Lusitano.

Our journey takes us to Italy, Mexico, and beyond for some astonishingly beautiful music!
