Heralded for his contributions to the early Baroque aesthetic, Claudio Monteverdi also produced exquisite music that is steadfastly late Renaissance in style. Jouyssance will present some of his early madrigals, plus his sacred music written deliberately in the Palestrina- like “stile antico.” Jouyssance will also sing works by composers who either influenced Monteverdi or work with him, such as Cipriano de Rore, Giaches de Wert, Luca Marenzio, and Salamone Rossi.

3rd Annual Early Music Singalong
with Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble

Come sing with Jouyssance Early Music Ensemble! This year's featured works include Tomás Luis de Victoria's Missa O Magnum Mysterium and his motet of the same name.
Artistic Director Nicole Baker will coach singers in technique and interpretation, while providing engaging historical context. A reception will follow the event.
